New Grammar School Director Joins CGPS

Sarah McLean, her husband John Tsien, and their three children are delighted to be joining the CGPS community. Sarah considers herself a New Yorker, having been born at Saint Luke’s Hospital, although she spent most of her childhood in Massachusetts, Maine, and North Carolina. Sarah is a graduate of Milton Academy (‘94), Yale (‘99 - History and International Studies) and Columbia Teachers College (‘05 - Bilingual/Bicultural Education). Sarah and her family are returning to New York after 12 years overseas, where they have been part of the Mandarin-English dual-language community at the Chinese International School in Hong Kong. They enjoy spending time with family in Taipei, Taiwan and on MacMahan Island, Maine and will be living in Fort Lee, NJ. Sarah is an avid reader, mainly of non-fiction. A book she has read and re-read is Quiet by Susan Cain. Her most recent read is The Strength Switch: How the New Science of Strength-Based Parenting Can Help Your Child and Your Teen to Flourish, by Lea Waters, PhD. Sarah loves book recommendations, especially from students!
