Though the physical campus of Columbia Grammar & Prep has grown exponentially since we were all alumni, CGPS continues to be such a special place for children to grown and learn. As both an alumna and a staff member I am astounded by the numerous improvements to our facilities that have not only transformed our school but have also enhanced the quality of life for our students. After a busy 12 months of construction, and over a decade in the making, the CGPS Middle School opened its doors to students in grades 5, 6 and 7 on Thursday, September 8, 2016. Our school now totals 215,000 square feet with 14 buildings between 92nd and 94th streets. All the while, so much still feels the same, like being greeted by familiar faculty faces or walking by the warm pool on a brisk day.
This is a significant year as we prepare to say farewell to Dr. Richard J. Soghoian who will retire this spring, 2017. He will be greatly missed, and we cannot thank him enough for what he has done for our school and our community.
To learn more about how you can honor and pay tribute to Dr. Soghoian I invite you to visit the rest of the alumni website. You can make a gift in his honor, or attend our celebratory benefit on March 8, 2017. Click here to receive an invitation or here for more details about the event.
