Please note: Pre-Kindergarten applicants must be four years old before September 1, and Kindergarten applicants must be five years old before September 1. In all other grades, similar birthday guidelines are in place and can be further discussed with the Director of Admissions & Enrollment Management.

The items above must be completed on or before November 15 to become an applicant.

Before November 15, please self-schedule your child's interview/playgroup. These do not need to be completed but scheduled before November 15, as spaces are limited.

*Prior to the application deadline (November 15), you must also submit the parent questionnaire and parent statement.*

Once the above items are completed and your application has been processed, a link to self-schedule your child’s interview/playgroup will be available in your Veracross portal.

We encourage both parents/guardians to attend their child’s interview/playgroup whenever possible. While the children are participating in the interview/playgroup, parents/guardians will have a guided tour with a parent liaison and a Q&A session with a member of the Admissions Team.

Interviews/playgroups, tours and Q & A sessions will be conducted October through January.

Supplemental required information is due on or before January 8.

For students applying to Grades 2-5, a member of the Admissions Team will contact you to arrange your visit to CGPS. The visit will include a guided family tour, followed by a student academic assessment and a parent/guardian Q&A session.

Applicants will return at a later date for an in-class visit and a group project.

Interviews and assessments will be conducted from November through January.

Admissions Process & Requirements

6th Grade Applicants

Student Group Project & Interview: Students will join us on campus for an interactive, in-person group project and interview.
Parent/Guardian Zoom Q&A: Parents/guardians can schedule a 15-minute Zoom Q&A session with a member of the admissions team, to be held during the same week as their student's campus visit.

7th & 8th Grade Applicants

Student Assessment & Interview: Individual academic assessment and student interview.
Parent/Guardian Q&A: Parents/guardians will join their student for a brief Q&A session at the conclusion of the student's interview and assessment.

Note: Interviews and assessments for all grades are conducted October through January.

Standardized Testing requirements (grades 2–11)

CGPS requires the ISEE or SSAT for admission to the School.

For the ISEE test, your child’s testing is administered by the Educational Records Bureau (ERB) and should be arranged by contacting the ERB office through their website or by calling 800.446.0320 and listing our School as a recipient. Our school code is 333570.

Early Decision Information

As you may know, CGPS has a long-standing policy that reflects our commitment to families within our School community. We are pleased to offer children of current families, alumni families and CGPS faculty and staff the option to apply through Early Decision for all grades.

All eligible applicant families will receive a form inviting them to opt into Early Decision. The Admissions Office must be notified of your decision by Friday, November 6.

Notification Date: Wednesday, December 9, 2026

It is only through the Early Decision process that preferential consideration is given. Families who apply through Early Decision will receive their admission decision in December. If you choose not to participate in Early Decision, your child will be placed in the general applicant pool and notified along with other applicants in February or March.
