Students and teachers in the Prep School met up on Zoom today for “speed friending”—an opportunity for lightning-fast conversation and socializing.
Last Monday morning, CGPS alumna and Stanford freshman Tessa Wayne ’20 led over 70 Middle School students from the math team, Grammar School Math Coordinator Kate Smallberg ’04 and Prep School Math Department Head Nathan Dummit in a data talk that she created for Stanford Professor Jo Boaler and her website: YouCubed.com.
Last Wednesday, fourth graders got a special visit from Ashley Braunthal, a PhD student who specializes in geology and oceanography.
92 Middle School students recently took the AMC 8—a 25-question, 40-minute multiple-choice examination designed to test problem-solving skills from the Mathematical Association of America—and the results are nothing short of tremendous.

During winter break, Prep School receptionist Dakota Martin and her theater company spent an entire day working with fifteen young performers from across the country to stage a virtual musical as part of their youth program aptly titled Play In A Day.
This afternoon, the Middle School community had their winter assembly. Hosted by Student Government co-presidents Savannah V. '26 and Chella S. '26, the event was an entertaining way to cap off a great year of learning at CGPS.
A very festive Spirit Week brought out the cheer in the members of the Middle School this week. With activities like CGPS trivia, Mad Libs and seasonal arts and crafts, Spirit Week brought a little extra fun and excitement to the school day this week.
In General Music, 6-1 and 6-2 have been working with an online music program called Soundtrap. Soundtrap is a DAW (digital audio workstation) where students can explore recording, music loops and sound effects.
