Tessa Wayne ’20 Named Honorable Mention Jewish All America for HS Girls Basketball

This summer, Tessa Wayne ’20 capped off her amazing athletics career at Columbia Prep by being named Honorable Mention Jewish All America for High School Girls Basketball by the Jewish Sports Review. The Jewish Sports Review is a bi-monthly newsletter that covers sports from high school to professional leagues and keeps track of Jewish Athletes. Tessa was one of 12 girls across the entire country named to the team due to her fantastic performance both at Columbia Prep and for the skills she displayed playing for Team USA at the Maccabiah games in 2017. Tessa ended her career as a two-time Independent School All-State player and as Columbia Prep's all-time leading scorer with 1720 points. Tessa won the 2020 Senior Athlete award for her contributions to the basketball and softball programs where she was a 9-time All-League player and 2-time League MVP in her two sports.

Last week, the fifth-graders in Class 5A began their advisory program curriculum for the year with an exercise that invited them to think about the values most important to them. With the guidance of their teacher, Linda Beasley, the students then searched for inspirational quotes that expressed these personal ideals.
