On Sunday, June 12, Columbia Prep scholar-athlete Michael O. ’23 gave an impressive performance during the New York State Federation Boys Golf Championship.
On the evening of Monday, December 13, Columbia Prep science teachers Ilya Yashin and Nick Verga held the School's third Astronomy Night of the year in Central Park. About 20 students, parents, faculty and their family members came out to observe Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and the Moon through a telescope. The images in the eyepiece were crisp and awe-inspiring. Several attendees said that Saturn was so picture-perfect that it looked as if it were a picture cut-out hanging in front of the telescope!
Because Jupiter and Saturn will soon begin to set before the sun does, the next Astronomy Night will be held next September. We hope that you can make it!
