On Sunday, June 12, Columbia Prep scholar-athlete Michael O. ’23 gave an impressive performance during the New York State Federation Boys Golf Championship.
This morning, the Middle School community gathered on Zoom for their winter assembly! An entertaining way to cap off a great year of learning at CGPS, the event got everyone up off their feet and into the holiday spirit with performances of classic wintertime songs from the division's faculty. The music department led everyone in merry sing-alongs to "A Marshmallow World," "Winter Wonderland," "My Dreidel" and a version of "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" that incorporates all of the holidays this winter season. Math Coordinator Josh Bookin, English teacher Rachel Berger and librarian Rebecca Cohen also impressed with their CGPS-themed spin on "Jingle Bell Rock." Later, teachers and students continued one of the Middle School's most anticipated holiday traditions — a group performance of "The 12 Days of Christmas."
To conclude the assembly, Middle School Director Paul Baly thanked everyone for coming together to ensure this year was the best it could be. "I want to congratulate everyone for making 2021 such an incredibly connected and united year," he said. "This community continues to find strength in each other and become stronger because we stay connected and supportive of each other."
