Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School (CGPS) is a PreK-12 co-educational school located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, steps from Central Park. It was founded in 1764 and has a long and storied history of nurturing our students’ potential and passions both inside and outside the classroom, unifying and inspiring members of its community in a rigorous but relaxed learning environment, preparing them for the finest colleges and instilling in them the confidence, ethical values and sense of purpose to embrace challenges, to achieve their dreams and to improve the world.

CGPS seeks faculty members who are well-trained in their respective disciplines and are committed to the growth and development of every student in our care. Teachers new to our community are given a comprehensive orientation to the School, its procedures and culture to ensure a smooth transition. New faculty are mentored by long-tenured teachers and administrators to help guide them through their inaugural year.
